
To recognize and honour an Indian and an American who have made significant contributions, during the calendar year, towards enhancing Indo-American understanding and goodwill, through the promotion of the arts, culture, the social sciences, education, sports, management development, industry & business, or allied fields. List of Past Awardees enclosed will give an indication of the level of awardees

Two
1. To an Indian, preferably an Indian citizen or an Indian by origin who, even if settled in the U.S., has contributed to Indo-American understanding.
2. To an American, who has also contributed to U.S.-Indo understanding and dialogue.

| Eligibility: |
Individuals based either in India or the U.S. The judges may, in their absolute discretion, consider previous achievements, accomplishments or performances while making selections. If there are no suitable nominations for the specified periods, contribution during prior years can be considered (If the judges decide that there are no suitable nominations, no awards will be given).

| Nominations: |
All Indo-American Society members as well as their contacts and others can nominate for the Two Awards. Award nominations should be submitted, in duplicate, in computer printed or typewritten format with names and address of the nominees, and with justifications for the nominations, preferably in 1000 words.

| Selection Of Awardees: |
A committee of judges, as appointed by the Executive Committee, will examine all nominations and select the awardees. A panel of judges, consisting of eminent personalities from all walks of life, will evaluate all the nominations before finally selecting the Awardees. The decision of the judges will be final.

| Special Awards: |
| If the Committee feels any individual, Indian or American, has made outstanding lifetime contribution, a special awardee can be chosen in addition. Two past examples are Mother Teresa and Pandit Ravi Shankar. |
